Overall it provides great insight into J Paul Getty, going back to his childhood so you are able to understand how the richest man in the world was simultaneously emotionally bankrupt. The book also provides significant attention to Getty's children and the building of the Getty empire. Girlfriends, wives, the Sarah Getty Trust, building of the Getty Oil Empire are also given ample coverage. The kidnapping o

Filmed by Ridley Scott, the movie stars Michelle Williams and Christopher Plummer, who took over the role of J Paul Getty AFTER the filming had been finished. He was put in to replace Kevin Spacey and I'd love to read how the film's J Paul Getty's scenes were reshot and all the publicity material was changed. Another story, I guess Anyway, the movie was excellent and I wa

It can absolutely buy any material things one can dream of. It is a very in depth look at how one individuals drive to become perhaps the richest person in America cost him any emotional connection with his immediate family. It was amazing how brilliant Jean Paul Getty had to be to amass billions of dollars in the cut throat world of hi

PDF/EPUB All the Money in the World: previously published as Painfully Rich Read this after tv special focusing on infamous kidnapping. Wanted to know how Getty got so rich and what happened later and learned something. Details about kidnapping were excruciating. Even if you hate the rich on principle you have to feel sorry for the grandson. Regarding the old man’s womanizing this reminded about jfk. Perhaps a little too complete, I.e. too long but you can always stop reading when you want, e.g. you do

Frustrating given this is a do over and they couldn’t fix mistakes. Re the writing, I thought the author was too biased in his sympathy towards Paul Jr.

PDF/EPUB All the Money in the World: previously published as Painfully Rich Summary ↠ PDF, DOC, TXT or eBook ✓ John Pearson I enjoyed this book. I remember hearing the name Jean Paul Getty being banded around during my childhood and it was interesting to read All the Money in the World to learn about this mysterious billionaire. The book is well written and informative and certainly hammers home the old adage. Money doesn't buy happiness It certainly doesn't but at least it lets you be miserable in comfort!

Read All the Money in the World: previously published as Painfully Rich PDF/EPUB All the Money in the World: previously published as Painfully Rich John Pearson ✓ 4 characters If you have watched the movie and enjoyed, be warned the kidnap only takes a couple of chapters within this insight to the Getty family.

Very well written and researched it tells the story of a blighted family and a single minded patriarch, the story is quite tragic at times, however gives an idea as to how the pursuit of wealth disrupts relationships, the greed and avarice is astounding, as is the attitudes of the family members.
